646-325-9558
The series portrays the office of a Brooklyn based band that has maintained a successful business for many years.Tony B. is the owner of the company/band leader. He is a musician and a businessman. A simple business to run it is not. Tony has had to make personnel changes in his band from time to time for one reason or other. So this time around he has made a commitment to surround himself with only sane, normal musicians.
The characters, whether they are musician, caterer or client is proof that the industry is loaded with the funniest people in the world.
So, while moving forward, we reflect to the past and take on the present with a good laugh.
An entertaining, new age situation comedy, with episodic storyline continuity.
Scenes:
“ The Office”
4 0r 5 large office desks with phones computers, pencil sharpeners…a large color-coded calendar on one of the walls in the office used to keep track of bookings. Each color corresponds to a band within the office.
“The Rehearsal”
This is town central rehearsal studio where bands rehearse, and musicians (characters) run into each other. The main lobby of this establishment is used for interaction. Some, in rehearsal room scenes are to be expected.
“The caterer”
This is an office scene with a single large desk. This is the owner of the catering hall. He has the leads list (clients) that you pick up every week. He has an adjacent office with a secretary. Have to get by her to get to him!
“The Showcase”
This scene is in the catering hall and is the theater where bands compete to book affairs.
“The Interview “
Not all parties are signed on first viewing. Clients need time to think it over- here we try to close the deal- Scene could be in clients house, in the office, or at the catering hall.
Or in your SUV.
“Final Arrangements”
This is final meeting between office rep (band member) and client. This is very comical with nervous brides.
“ The Gig”
This is the result of everyone doing his or her job. The band is working, the client is happy, the caterer is happy… Lets have a drink
The Characters
Tony, about age forty, is the only child of Italian immigrant parent’s, Giovanni and Rosetta B. After all these years they’re still not sure how their son Anthony (Tony) makes a living. They think he’s in the mafia, because of his fancy clothes and fancy cars. Tony is currently separated from his wife Tracy, who used to be the office manager and a very good one at that. Though they still love each other they have some issues they need to work out.
Tony has been doing business in the tri state area for 20 years, so there has been a certain measure of success along with a lot of history. However, the business is changing, as more and more clients are turning to DJ’s instead of live music. So Tony must work harder, make adjustments, whatever it takes to remain in business.
Tracy D B currently separated from Tony has been married to him for five years. She is a beautiful woman about age 35 and obviously not of Italian decent. She continually seeks her in-laws approval and tries too hard.
Al C. has been Tony’s faithful drummer for the past 5 years. Psychiatrist by day drummer by night. He is the consigliore-Tony’s right hand man. Tony hasn’t made a move in 5 years without first checking with Al. Not that he does what Al says, its just good conversation
Dave E. is recruited in the pilot episode- Bass player/ substitute schoolteacher. Very soft spoken, slow talking. Nice guy. How much trouble can this guy be. Hire him!
